Reports are an important part of Teamwork, allowing customers to have a birds eye view on project statuses, staff profitability, estimated or logged time and much more. But those default reports were proving to be limiting to users.
Constant user feedback coming through Pendo or customer support tickets showed that the platform needed a flexible and modular report builder.
After our UX researcher finalised the initial sketches. The following drafts were handed over to me.
The concept was now fully in my hands to uplift and introduce a proper UI execution. The structure was very loose, with only a few elements couldn't be out of the final design.
So I had freedom to experiment with the overall structure making sure that we had a clean and lean execution.
I recommended to include a preview area, to help users when generating the report and have a sleeker column picker to help users add fields that were relevant to them.
After a few meetings and minor teaks, this was the final result.
